Travel Early, Pay Less

Commuters who travel early can expect to save on their fares. PTC introduced the Morning Pre-Peak Fares which allow commuters to enjoy up to 50-cent* savings when they tap-in before 7.45am at any rail station island-wide on weekdays (except Public Holidays). This scheme was introduced since 29 December 2017 to encourage more commuters to travel before the morning peak hours. 

* The discount quantum is $0.50 or the fare for the train trip of the journey, whichever is lower.

Here’s are some examples:

(1) Commuter who taps in before 7.45am at Jurong East MRT station and taps out at Bishan MRT station:

Distance: 16.6km

(2) Commuter who taps in before 7.45am at Jalan Besar MRT station and taps out at Chinatown MRT station:

Distance: 2.9km

(3) Commuter takes Compassvale LRT to Hougang MRT station, boards bus service 325 at Hougang Central Bus Interchange and alights at Hougang Swimming Complex:

Distance: 3.2km (train) + 1.9km (bus) = 5.1km 

(4) Commuter boards bus service 232 at Toa Payoh Lorong 7 (opp Block 5) and alights at Toa Payoh Bus Interchange, then taps in at Toa Payoh MRT station before 7.45am and taps out at Newton MRT station: 

Distance: 2.2km (bus) + 2.6km (train) = 4.8km
